This very rare and early bottle is made from lead glass that has a slight crizzing effect and the bottle is quite thickly blown and heavy for it's size. This type of mouth is seen on some other 18th century bottles that turn up in the Mid Atlantic area and I strongly suspect this could be a Pennsylvania made bottle of the mid 18th century. In the 1760s Henry William Stiegel advertised "enameled carafes" and this just might represent what he was producing with this having the white enamel decoration.. Substantial wear on the bottom. Height 8 inches. I used the flash to pick up the crizzling but the crizzling is barely noticable in normal lighting conditions. Undamaged.
